The hospitality sector is facing pressure to increase its cost-effectiveness while maintaining a high environmental standard. Researchers from Abu Dhabi University focus on material management and develop a cost-based optimization model for high quality, sustainable material management. The model is developed from data gathered from hotels throughout the United Arab Emirates, and is intended to be expanded for use by hotels and service companies to reduce material costs and enhance sustainability practices.
